Privacy Policy

Liftgoals is a cloud-based fitness and training web service that helps you plan and track your workouts, analyse your progress, and follow other users. It acts as your training diary.

At Liftgoals, we respect your privacy and strive to offer you a safe user experience. With this Privacy Policy we want to tell you about what data we collect when you use our products and services, how we use and handle this data, and your rights with respect to your data.

When you use our services, we may collect your personal data. That data is used only to offer you the service in question, nothing else. We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.

Liftgoals is a globally operating company with users or customers all over the world. For this reason, in most cases your data is transferred out of your home country. Your data is stored on Liftgoals ecosystem servers which are located in the EU/EEA area.

What we collect and why

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here's what that means in practice:

Identity and access

When you sign up for a Liftgoals account, we ask for identifying information such as your email address. That's so you can authenticate your new account, and we can send you product updates and other essential information when needed, for example if we update this Privacy Policy. We may also send you optional surveys from time to time to help us understand how you use our products and to make improvements. With your consent, we may send you our newsletter and other updates. We also give you the option to add a profile picture, your name, and a brief description of yourself that will be used in your public user profile.

We'll never sell your personal information to third parties, and we won't use your name in marketing statements without your permission either.

Product Interactions

We store on our servers the content that you upload or receive or maintain in your Liftgoals account. This is so you can use our services as intended, for example, to create workouts,to track your activities, your progress against your goals, among other features. We keep this content as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete the content within 60 days.

Cookies

We use persistent cookies to store certain preferences, make it easier for you to use our applications, and perform A/B testing as well as support some analytics.

A cookie is a piece of text stored by your browser. It may help remember login information and site preferences. You can adjust cookie retention settings and accept or block individual cookies in your browser settings, although our app won't work and other aspects of our service may not function properly if you turn cookies off.

Voluntary correspondence

When you email us at Liftgoals with a question or to ask for help, we keep that correspondence, including your email address, so that we have a history of past correspondence to reference if you reach out in the future.

We also store information you may volunteer, for example, written responses to surveys. If you agree to a customer interview, we may ask for your permission to record the conversation for future reference or use. We will only do so with your express consent.

How we handle your personal information

When you create a user account for Liftgoals services, we ask for some personal information, like your email address. We need this information in order to provide you with a personalized experience with our services. For example, all your account activity will be associated to the user generated for your email address.

We may use your personal information to ensure the proper functioning and safety of Liftgoals products, to verify your identity, and to investigate frauds and other misuse of the products. We may also process your information as part of our research and product development activities – we're continuously developing new functionalities and improving existing ones.

If you use any of our fee-based services, we can save your payment card information with your permission to facilitate further payments. This information is saved in encrypted format in a third-party system. We select our service providers carefully and ensure that they meet the requirements for safe and reliable handling of information set for that sector. When processing payment information, we comply with applicable legislation and the terms and conditions set and monitored by payment service providers.

If you wish, you may also share information from Liftgoals' services to systems or services offered by a third party, such as Facebook or Instagram. Liftgoals is not responsible for any information transferred elsewhere or for the accuracy of the information outside Liftgoals' system. Each service provider's information security and privacy practices are applied to such information.

How we secure your data

There are always risks associated with providing personal data, whether in person, by phone or via the internet or other technologies, and no system or technology is completely safe or "tamper"/"hacker" proof. Liftgoals uses appropriate technical and organizational security measures (such as encryption) and precautions to collect and process data and to prevent unauthorized access to and improper use of your personal data. If Liftgoals sites support online transactions, they will use industry standard security measures to protect the confidentiality and security of these transactions. We use industry standard security measures, such as SSL authentication, to ensure that your credit card information, as well as other personal data submitted as part of the buying process, is appropriately safe from third-party interception.

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. The database backups are also encrypted. In addition, we go to great lengths to secure your data at rest. Most data are not encrypted while they live in our database (since they need to be ready to send to you when you need them).

What happens when you delete content in your product accounts

In many places in Liftgoals, we give you the option to trash content. Anything you trash in your product accounts while they are active will be deleted immediately and after that, the trashed content cannot be accessed via the application and we are not able to retrieve it for you.

If you choose to cancel your account, your content will become immediately inaccessible and should be purged from our systems in full within 60 days. Some content generated by you might still be accessible by other users of our service, for example workouts that you may have created in a public mode and that have already been executed by other users.

Data retention

We keep your information for the time necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and your choices, after which time we may delete and/or aggregate it. We may also retain and use this information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Location of site and data

Our products and services are delivered using resources and servers located in various countries. The actual service data (your account details and the data you provide in our platform) is stored on servers located in the EU/EEA area; Ireland and Germany. If you are located outside the European Union, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the EU. By using our website or services and/or providing us with your personal information, you consent to this transfer.

Liftgoals never discloses any of your personal information without a separate permission from you, unless it is necessary for handling your order, or carrying out your request. Information may, however, be disclosed if necessary because of law, a court order, or a regulation or request issued by authorities.

For statistical purposes, Liftgoals may deliver collected anonymized statistical data on its customers, sales, traffic types, exercise information, and similar website information to reputable third parties. These statistics do not contain identifiable personal information.

Storage and accuracy of information

We only store the information as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or required by law. On Liftgoals.com, you can manage your personal information yourself. We recommend that you check the accuracy of your information occasionally and correct it when necessary. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

Your rights

At Liftgoals, we strive to apply the same data rights to all customers, regardless of their location. Some of these rights include:

  • Right to Know. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, or shared. We outline both the categories and specific bits of data we collect, as well as how they are used, in this privacy policy.
  • Right of Access. This includes your right to access the personal information we gather about you, and your right to obtain information about the sharing, storage, security and processing of that information.
  • Right to Correction. You have the right to request correction of your personal information.
  • Right to Erasure / "To Be Forgotten". This is your right to request, subject to certain limitations under applicable law, that your personal information be erased from our possession and, by extension, from all of our service providers. Fulfillment of some data deletion requests may prevent you from using Liftgoals' services because our applications may then no longer work. In such cases, a data deletion request may result in closing your account.
  • Right to Complain. You have the right to make a complaint regarding our handling of your personal information with the appropriate supervisory authority.
  • Right to Restrict Processing. This is your right to request restriction of how and why your personal information is used or processed, including opting out of sale of your personal information. (Again: we never have and never will sell your personal data.)
  • Right to Object. You have the right, in certain situations, to object to how or why your personal information is processed.
  • Right to Portability. You have the right to receive the personal information we have about you and the right to transmit it to a third party. Liftgoals is not responsible for the third party's system's ability to process the information in the format that is used for the transfer.
  • Right to not Be Subject to Automated Decision-Making. You have the right to object to and prevent any decision that could have a legal or similarly significant effect on you from being made solely based on automated processes. This right is limited if the decision is necessary for performance of any contract between you and us, is allowed by applicable law, or is based on your explicit consent.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We do not and will not charge you a different amount to use our products, offer you different discounts, or give you a lower level of customer service because you have exercised your data privacy rights. However, the exercise of certain rights may, by virtue of your exercising those rights, prevent you from using our Services.

Many of these rights can be exercised by signing in and updating your account information. Please note that certain information may be exempt from such requests under applicable law. For example, we need to retain certain information in order to provide our services to you.

In some cases, we also need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, at a minimum, depending on the sensitivity of the information you are requesting and the type of request you are making, verifying your name and email address. If we are unable to verify you, we may be unable to respond to your requests. If you have questions about exercising these rights or need assistance, please contact us at admin@liftgoals.com. If an authorized agent is corresponding on your behalf, we will need written consent with a signature from the account holder before proceeding.

Using customer data in marketing

When you subscribe to a newsletter or register to Liftgoals services, you may be asked for your consent to receive marketing messages from Liftgoals. If you give your consent you will receive messages from Liftgoals which can be for example newsletters, information about new products and services or targeted advertisements in social media. Furthermore, you may be added to a custom audience on Facebook or you may receive targeted NPS (Net Promoter Score) questionnaires that are related to marketing and other material. We may target some material to certain user groups based on, for example, preferred sport or used device. Some material is targeted to certain geographical areas.

You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time from the marketing messages you've received from Liftgoals. Withdrawal of consent will clear your name from all Liftgoals marketing lists it may be on.

Liftgoals doesn't sell or give customer data to any third parties for marketing purposes.

Users under 16 years of age

Our policy is to request that customers under the age of 16 do not make purchases or engage in other legal acts on Liftgoals.com without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. For example, a user account with Liftgoals can only be created for a user under 16 years of age with permission from a guardian.

Changes to the Privacy

This Privacy Policy was updated on December 17th 2023. We may occasionally make changes to this Privacy Policy, and we notify our customers about such changes by email or via our services.
